While on contract at both Digital and Global Knowledge Network, I spent

newly implemented bespoke business software.

Harcros Builders Merchants
|
Training delivery of 4 lecture lab style courses designed for a bespoke
UNIX-based sales and management software. I traveled for a year around the
UK delivering courses on Purchasing, Stock Management, Management Statistics
and Timber Processing to employees of a builders merchant company. Many of
the students on the courses had no previous experience with computers - most
of their transactions were calculated on the back of a cigarette packet!
As the new computer system involved change for Harcros employees, there was a level of resistence to the training - however, I managed to make all students laugh, relax, enjoy the training sessions, leave with a more positive attitude about the new system and confident that they would be able to use the system when implemented. Not one student completed course feedback forms in a negative manner. This training was organized through Digital Equipment Corporation. |

Rover Car Dealerships
|
Delivery of training to salespeople working in Rover Car dealerships.
This involved teaching Rover employees how to use a new CD-ROM technology
application in Rover showrooms. The application is used to configure
examples and quotes for customer-specified cars and is intended to be used
with the customer in a showroom setting. These training sessions involved
a lot of role play - and hence a lot of fun.
This training delivery was organized through Global Knowledge Network (GKN). |
